Funmi Stephen-Oluleye is a senior Human Resources professional with over 19 years' experience working with expertise across the public service, consulting, financial services, and energy sector. Prior to joining Matrix Energy, she worked with Wema Bank Plc, where she managed the delivery of the bank's total rewards and employee experience programmes.

She started her career with the tax and people services practice of KPMG Professional Services Nigeria. Afterwards, she moved on to join the People Services Advisory function of KPMG where she provided advisory services to various clients ranging from financial services, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), telecoms, and energy sector on tax, reward management, and people advisory services.

Funmi transitioned to the oil and gas industry when she joined Pan Ocean Oil Corporation (Pan Ocean) and Newcross Exploration and Production Limited (NewcrossEP) as one of the pioneer employees to provide HR support with responsibilities ranging from start-up operations, corporate services, HR strategy, talent management, labour and employee relations, HR governance, and policy framework. She grew to become the Head of HR for NewcrossEP and was a member of the leadership team.

Her training, experience, and certifications cover a broad spectrum of strategic human resources processes ranging from talent acquisition and development, HR Business Partnering, performance and reward, change management, managing stakeholders, and operational efficiency. Funmi is a certified Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) with a Bachelor's degree in international relations and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Obafemi Awolowo University.

Funmi enjoys building effective teams and creating fun environments at work. She is passionate about people, performance, and processes with a focus on delivering top quartile results through organisational performance and ultimately building an enduring business.
